Mike Disner will stay with Lions after withdrawing from GM interviews
Kirthmon F. Dozier / USA TODAY NETWORK

Detroit Lions COO Mike Disner has been a huge part of this Lions team for a while now. He was hired in by Bob Quinn in 2019 as the teams vice president of football administration. The Lions kept him on after they moved on from that regime. It's a good thing they did, because it was Disner that helped the Lions find current GM Brad Holmes.

Disner has been a rising star for a while and he played a very big role in building the teams current roster and making sure the Lions could get out of the cap hell they were in after the Martin Mayhew and Bob Quinn years. The Panthers requested to interview Disner for their GM job before the playoffs started and on Sunday night it was announced that Disner withdrew himself from the Panthers' search and that he will be staying in Detroit.

Dinser staying with the Lions  will help them continue their build and help them manage their cap going into what should be a huge offseason with Jared Goff's extension and Detroit's free agent interest likely to be at an all time high. You got to feel somewhat bad for the Panthers. This is the second time a Lions person has withdrawn from their search in the last two years.
