Browns should sign this speedy WR in free agency

The Browns must continue building around QB Deshaun Watson in hopes he returns to his pre-2021 form in 2023, and there's a speedy receiver set to hit the open market who would likely help.

WR Parris Campbell would be a great addition for Cleveland this offseason. Campbell is "a speedster who has quietly started to develop into a quality receiver," NFL.com's Nick Shook wrote.

The Browns are in need of a deep-threat receiver, and Campbell, who ran a 4.31-second 40-yard dash coming out of college, could be exactly that.

Campbell has dealt with his fair share of injuries with the Colts, playing in just 15 games in his first three years, but he finally played a full season in 2022, posting a career-high 63 catches for 623 yards and three touchdowns.

Cleveland doesn't have a ton of cap space, estimated to be $17.1 million over as of now, so it will need to look for bargain deals like Campbell.

The 25-year-old is projected to receive a one-year, $2.5 million deal in free agency, according to Spotrac. If the Browns can get Campbell to agree to a contract in that range, they should be happy with their receiver room.

Wide receivers Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones both had solid seasons in 2022, but the rest of Cleveland's group combined for just 335 yards and zero touchdowns.

The 25-year-old also grew up in Akron, Ohio, which is just 45 minutes south of where he would play with the Browns and should only add to the intrigue of Campbell playing for Cleveland.
