Michael Porter Jr. is eligible to sign a contract extension with the Nuggets this offseason, and conversations seem to be going well between the two parties.

Porter talks to his agent Mark Bartelstein on an everyday basis regarding updates.

“Everything is sounding great, in the direction that I’d like to be headed,” Porter said. “Nothing is set in stone, but everything is going smooth as far as that goes.

“One thing about Mark – something probably could’ve been done already but Mark is the best in the business,” Porter added. “I told him, ‘Take your time, do your thing. I’m in no rush, I’m in grind mode. I’m not stressed about it. I’m just in the gym, and whenever you’ve got some news for me, hit me up.’”

Porter Jr. averaged 19.0 points on 54.2 percent shooting and 7.3 rebounds per game last season.

• Alize Johnson and the Bulls have agreed to a two-year, $3.6 million deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Johnson appeared in 18 games with the Nets last season, including a 20 point, 21 rebound performance against the Pacers.

• Keita Bates-Diop has signed a two-year contract to remain with the Spurs, according to Wojnarowski. Bates-Diop appeared in 30 games with San Antonio last season.

• The Nets recently acquired Sekou Doumbouya in a move that unloaded DeAndre Jordan‘s huge contract to the Pistons, but Spencer Davies of of Basketball News believes the Pistons may have been to quick to move on from the 15th pick of the 2019 NBA Draft. Davies opines that Doumbouya’s athleticism and frame could’ve helped him eventually carve out a role in Detroit’s rotation.
