A 1-2 mark Thursday slowed the momentum of what could've been a spectacular week, but we're still 6-2 since Monday and in great shape to finish the week with a profit. Let's do just that with my three favorite K props for Friday's MLB slate.
Zac Gallen has been one of the most consistent starting pitchers in MLB this year. The Arizona Diamondbacks ace has recorded double-digit strikeouts four times this season, including a season-best, 12-strikeout performance in his last start against the Los Angeles Angels. The Pittsburgh Pirates have averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game over the last 15 days, which is the second-highest mark in the league. Take the over.
If the Atlanta Braves are on the schedule, there's a strong chance I'm fading the opposing pitcher. The Braves have the highest batting average (.311) and OPS (1.007) in MLB over the last 15 days, and they have the fewest strikeouts (83) in the league over that same span. Tyler Glasnow has 23 strikeouts in his last two starts, but he also went under 7.5 Ks in his four previous starts.
The Houston Astros have been a tough team to punch out of late. Over the last two weeks, the 'Stros rank No. 1 in MLB in fewest strikeouts per game (6.8). Luis Castillo has been brilliant in the K department this season, going over this number in nine of his last 10 starts, but he recorded only five strikeouts in his only start against Houston this season. This Astros lineup is seeing the ball better now than they were at the time, so let's roll with the under.
