He took the ball up-court after Baylor senior forward Jalen Bridges hit a three to tie the game with 5.1 seconds remaining. Hunter sprinted downhill, worked his way into the paint and launched the awkward shot off the glass and into the basket.
Texas desperately needed a win after a loss on Wednesday to UCF dropped it to 1-3 in Big 12 play. The Longhorns are on the outside of Joe Lunardi's 2024 NCAA Tournament Bracketology and need a strong run in their conference to get back into the field of 68.
Saturday's game against Baylor marks the first of six consecutive games for Texas against teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 25.
It plays at No. 15 Oklahoma and No. 20 BYU this week, with games against No. 5 Houston, No. 19 TCU and No. 24 Iowa State to follow immediately afterward.
