Sebastian Fundora replaces Injured Thurman Against Tim Tszyu
Andy Abeyta/The Desert Sun / USA TODAY NETWORK

It looks like we will not see the return of Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman on March 30 against Tim Tszyu, but instead, we will see Sebastian Fundora go up against Tszyu. During the early morning hours, social media platform Tha Boxing Voice , posted on X, “Wow, horrible news, multiple sources have confirmed to me that Keith Thurman has a MRI scheduled today for a potential bicep injury.

I’m told MRI Results will determine if the fight is canceled or happens.”

Shortly after, reporters like Lance Pugmire, Jake Donovan, and Dan Rafael reported similar things, validating the news that Tha Boxing Voice had broken earlier today. Pugmire also posted that the WBC is considering putting their junior middleweight title on the line to make it a two-belt main event. This would be key as the event is Prime Video’s inaugural PPV, and given that the PPV.com price is currently set at $74.99, it would be hard to justify that price for a Tszyu vs Fundora main event. Although a source did mention that any talk of price adjustment for a PPV outside of Prime Video is “TBD,” it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Fans were wondering why Prime Video hadn’t promoted the event up to just a few days ago, and a source confirmed that the Thurman injury had already been known before today’s news floating around. There are no coincidences in boxing, so Prime was likely unsure of how it would play out, so they waited until they couldn’t hold out any longer.

This situation has to be heartbreaking for Thurman, but it is not that big of a shock as his inactivity throughout the last few years is the prime reason these injuries happen. Where does he go from here? Maybe we now get Thurman vs Errol Spence Jr in the summer? Let’s see if Thurman desires to continue his boxing career after this latest injury.
