The Impala SS from Hell !!! My Dream Car!!!

Whats up Yardy's I have some thoughts to Share With U !!! I saw a post about DREAM RIDES on here the other day and got me to thinking that maybe I should share with you guys my dream ride... No No No my dream ride is not a Lamborghini, a Phantom, or Ferrari... My Dream Ride Is a 1996 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport, Black Cherry With 24 inch Rims on It!!! Yes a Chevy that has it all... Its fast , sporty, eye catching and has a serious sound system... I spent alot of time and too much money coming up with ideas to make this car stand out amongst the rest... I Love it, but it still has me floored with frustration... I bought this car 3 years ago with my play-off check from the lost to the Indianapolis Colts... Now when I got this car it did not look anything like this... It was all factory and stock... I was so upset we lost to the Colts in the second round... I bought this car, "my dream car", to make myself feel better... That lasted all of about one week... I did not hesitate to put this Car into the shop to get started on Upgrading it!!! I can say this car has brought me more frustration, than actual happiness... This was just one more Example that money can not buy u Happiness!!! LOL... It just seems like one thing after another with the car... Its been in the shop more than its been in my possesion the last 3 years... I waited 11 years to buy this car!!! and when i finally get it, I get one that sat up in a barn undriven for 4 years with 51,000 original miles on it... I know what your saying that sounds great... I know it does I thought the same thing... lol... Not the case... I pretty much had the entire engine rebuilt with all the upgrades and additions done to it... the main problem I have with the car is that its shared so much time in between cities... Atlanta and Baltimore... I live in one city and play in the other... Its been hard to find a good consistant Mechanic... Too many hands have touched this beautiful car... And I have definitely learned a lot about what not to do with a old school car... I wrecked the car coming home after a scrimmage versus the Washington Redskins... The car was in the shop for 7 months!!! Then my insurance company wanted to total it but of course I would not let them... So I had the car fixed... The Car was too valuable to me!!! Then I put the car back into the shop to get the rest of the custom work done to it... Then my cousin backed into his own car attempting to move it into the garage!!! It just never stops with this car... Its The Impala From Hell!!! I am a huge car fan and I love nice cars... I love custom work, and rides that scream I'm one of a kind... One of my favorite shows is Street Customs... West Coast Customs puts out some really nice Rides... If you Live in Baltimore the Closest Thing to West Coast Customs is No Limit Incorporated in Bel Air... When I played for Tampa, They Had Blvd. Customs in St. Petersburg... I Can vouch for both of these companies if your looking for complete restoration or custom work... What should I do get rid of it? Or keep it? Its being fixed now... Should I start from scratch even tho I put so, so, so, much money into the car??? I would like to ask your thoughts on the car and see what you think about it Barkers... so check out my ride and show me your custom rides, If you have attempted to trick out a car!!! I would love to see what's out there... I know how hard it has been on my end to create the car of my dreams let me hear your stories??? or Horror Stories!!!

I feel your pain - the first brand new car I ever bought was a 2005 Impala LS (not as sporty as yours) - red - before the first payment was made my hubby pulled out of the driveway and hit a deer. It didn't do too much damage but has run like crap since we got it fixed. Any suggestions on what new cars out now are good? (The transmission seems to be messed up also)
-
Hey Hockey Goddess i was gonna buy a brand new car i would get the STS or CTS coupe Really insane care... Cadillac has really did a good job of redesigning this car one of the nicest i have seen in a while!!! and its a GM car!!! Yayyy supporting the U.S. What is it with deer... I had a 03 Harley Truck and my best friend hit a dear in it as well!!!

Caddy also have a new concept coming out if u need a 4 door its kinda like their version of the dodge magnum!!!

-
Thanks! Yeah, with two kids I need the four door - that kinda reminds me of a station wagon - I can't do station wagons (besides, it is probably out of my price range) I just want something that gets OK gas mileage (over 25 mpg) and is safe - too many deer around, also, the roads I travel daily have horrendous big truck traffic!
-
Hey Daniel You think your car is better than Spiderman`s(Demitrious Williams)?
-
WOW.....I would say get rid of it....but I know how men are about their cars!!!! My dad has a 64' Chevy Impala and he has had it since high school, he also has a 64 Ford Fairlane and Thunderbird...and 66 Mustang!!! His Impala has been stolen three times and thankfully he has gotten it back....He has not had any major mechanical problems such as yourself, but he is not able to fully enjoy his ride in fear that it may get taken away again!!! Good luck with your car...it may be curse, so if it keeps giving you problems, you may want to sell it and get another one to pimp out!!!
-
You're gonna have to holla at Ochocinco. .he just copped a 2004 Mercury Marauder. I was telling him needs to get some subs in there, besides just having the thing tinted with sirens.

Oh okay i gotcha Goddess... I have the perfect solution for yoIII by used... don't pay for a new ride... as soon as u drive off the lot u just wasted 15 thousdand dollars anyway... buy a used car... Try Crystlers... I promised myself that i would never buy new again... i like dodge magnums and crysler 300's... the 300's are more of a family car than the magnums... but u can get them really cheap if you buy used!!! check out this website this guy always has really nice used cars... he buys them all from the Auction Manhiem etc... and he has really good taste in vehicals I bought my wife's car from him... www.autoshowcasecars.com!!!

Yeah used is definitely the way to go. But those 300C's are just way too unreliable

Hey Daniel does the sound system sound as great as the horn in this car ?
If remember right this vehicle has a Bad Ass horn. -
Hi Daniel - car update. I stated earlier, I was in no hurry - however, my hubby was. I checked out new - out of our league because we owed too much on our 05 Impala. We were determined to go foreign - but they were also asking too much for used.
We traded our 05 Impala for a........2007 Impala SS - it is a beauty. Black w/ black cloth interior. (Yea, I know, cloth, but....) I think we got a good deal because we were able to purchase just slightly above Blue Book value, even with all the negative equity on our old car. Thanks for all your help - I did check out the web site you recommended - nice cars but not the family vehicle we were looking for. Wish me luck with it - there can't be too Impala SS from hell, can there?????? -
LOL... congrats i like impala's i hoping that this one will bring way more joy than the last one did... i must say i like your Color Choices... ur husband and you both have pretty good taste!!! Tint the windows black and no one will never notice the cloth seats!!! lol... plus your gonna be happy about those clothes seats this summer!!!
-
I probably shouldn't admit this - but I do prefer cloth. When I was growing up, all my parents & grandparents ever had were cars with vinyl seats - if you ever had to travel in them, you froze in the winter and sweated and stuck to them in the summer. I know leather is different, but can't erase those memories!
-
LOL I FEEL YOU TRUST ME!!! DON'T BE ASHAMED EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT TASTE...
-
Well since I am dreaming That 2010 camaro would be mine wouldn't be picky about the color but black would be my first choice!
-
yeah man... black is sweet!!! lol...
-
Right now my dream car would be anything that gets me from point A to point B. Lol. And one I can afford. Paying for school right now so I can not get a car. Oh well. But if I can have any car it would be a 1956 Corvette in baby blue. I love classic cars.

Hey Daniel I know your pain. After all the work that I put into my little project car that I had, it was in the shop to get the sound system upgraded and then a hurricane hit and made the little visit almost a year. Once I got that back it was flooded out by another hurricane and was able to save it. Then once I get it back from the shop to get the engin redone after that and a new custom turbo put on the car. The alternator dies and then as I was getting ready to make a turn a truck pulls out in front of me and takes out the front end. Still planning on making it to NOPI Nationals my cousin and I take off the front end and the fender and as we where driving down 75 the hood pulled a scene from Tommy Boy. My cousin almost shit his pants. So my baby was now totalled and I was able to drive it for all of three days after getting it out of the shop.
But you know I loved that car, didn't get to drive it as much as I'd like but you know what, everytime I was able to take it out to a show and have someone come up and say I love what you did to this car. It made all the pain that I had with it before well worth it cause I knew that the labor of love showed through. So keep up the fight with the car its just like a teenager, you never know whats going to happen next. -
